Most of the Americans have shunned Flu vaccinations

As per a recent survey that the National Public Radio Service Announced, Americans still have shunned the flu vaccination. Over 3,000 female and male adults were surveyed in the study and 64 percent of them opt to not go for Flu vaccine and around 50 percent have the fear that there would be complications after this shot. People having allergic reactions may opt for variations for combating the flu.influenza-flu-vaccine

On the other hand, the other half among the 64 percent of people feel that they won’t get sick and don’t believe the statistics either. Since flu is an illness that is characterized only with mild coughs, people opt for drinking tea or taking other medications instead of taking the flu vaccination.

Owing to this fact, doctors have been urging people to opt for the shot even if they feel they are healthy during this season, because flu complications are not rare. It might result in many other diseases as well. Infection can be caused in other people too, just be sneezing, after which they can fall victim to very severe illnesses. For getting rid of the problem or for alleviating it, a campaign has been launched by CDC in which awareness has been brought with regards to influenza virus.

“Education didn’t make much of a difference. Income was not a big differentiator. Age was really the biggest differentiator,” Dr. Michael Taylor, Truven’s chief medical officer, tells Shots.

Even Uber, a popular company has shown interest to bring this vaccine popularly among the masses. As per the UberHealth program, vaccination is brought straight to the homes of the people and hence, they don’t have to worry about the commodity or ease of access. With this, people are receiving more awareness and the number of people taking vaccinations have improved.

People have to understand well that even if doesn’t seem serious, cold is definitely a very serious problem in which people are prone to complications very easily.

  1. There is a good reason for that. The public are increasingly rejecting this ineffective vaccine and the side effects associated with it.

"The Cochrane Collaboration published a series of articles on the flu vaccine in 2005, reviewing all of the published studies.! Out of 51 published studies on the flu vaccine, involving 260,000 children, the Collaboration found "no evidence that injecting children 6 to 23 months of age with flu vaccines is any more effective than placebo."! There was also no evidence that the vaccine prevented deaths or other complications in this group.! Concerning safety, "We were astonished to find only one safety study of inactivated vaccine in children under two years of age; that was carried out nearly 30 years ago and only in 35 children (The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews: "Vaccines for preventing influenza in healthy children." 1-(2006) )."! Similarly in adults 25 studies were reviewed involving 60,000 study participants.! Findings were that the vaccination reduced risk of contracting the flu by only 6 percent,! and reduced days of missed work by 0.16 day.! "Universal immunization of healthy adults was not supported by the results of this review (The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews:! "Vaccines for preventing influenza in health adults."! 1-(2006) )."! Vaccination of the elderly was also examined in this series of reviews.! A total of 64 studies spanning 96 flu seasons was reviewed with Dr. Jefferson of the Cochrane Collaborative concluding "The effectiveness of the flu shot – particularly for the elderly – was wildly overstated and the runaway 100 percent effectiveness touted by proponents [of the flu vaccine] for the elderly was nowhere to be seen.! What you see is that marketing rules the response to influenza, and scientific evidence comes forth or fifth (The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews:! "Vaccines for preventing influenza in health adults."! 1-(2006) ).”!

"An expose of this was done by CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson in 2009 in which they found that the Florida Department of Health tested only 8,853 people during the "height" of the so-called swine flu pandemic and discovered that 83% of these subjects presenting with upper respiratory flu-like symptoms did not have any flu at all, but one of over 100 other respiratory viruses that make their way through a given year.! Of the remaining 17% only a small percent had the swine flu and the others had one of the other seasonal flu viruses."

  2. A Johns Hopkins scientist has issued a blistering report on influenza vaccines in the British Medical Journal (BMJ). Peter Doshi, Ph.D., charges that although the vaccines are being pushed on the public in unprecedented numbers, they are less effective and cause more side effects than alleged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Further, says Doshi, the studies that underlie the CDC’s policy of encouraging most people to get a yearly flu shot are often low quality studies that do not substantiate the official claims.
