Apple launched its most powerful 4-inch phone ever in the smartphone world at a media event. It inherits many internal components such as design from iPhone 5s. This is also a delivery of a small package which achieves it as an affordable and highly capable device.
Design: If we were to describe the design of iPhone 4s, it takes over the same body as iPhone 5s. The same curved display with aluminum embedded back coming out with the colors of the back steel cover with the unmatched Apple logo. It is available in Silver, Space Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold. Standard rounded volume buttons and flat power button on the top near the chamfered edges, a flash camera and a pill-shaped rear flash. It is 7.6 mm thick and is 4.87 inches by 2.31 inches which is portable. It has an “SE” labeling on the back of the device.
Hardware: This phone runs in dual-core 64-bit A9 chip at 1.85GHz, which is the same level as iPhone 6. It also performed well in the Geekbench tests, by receiving a single-core score of 2538 and a multi-core score of 4421. Embedded M9 motion coprocessor along with A9 chip it enables, “Hey Siri” always. This phone comes with a 2GB of RAM, which iPhones normally doesn’t reveal the RAM in its devices, we also came to know that iPhone 5s has only 1GB of RAM.
Software: iPhone SE ships with the latest operating system, iOS 9 which is packed with many features such as NightMode, Transit directions in Maps, new power packed tools in Notes app, etc.,
Display: Unfortunately, the iPhone 4s doesn’t carry the premium 3D touch feature of iPhones that are in flagship levels. Although, they have included the LED-backlight Multi-Touch IPS Retina Display that supports a resolution of 1136 x 640 at 326 pixels per inch.
Battery: The battery life scores significantly better than the iPhone 5s by rendering talktime up to 14 hours on 3G, up to 13 hours video playback, up to 50 hours of audio playback and standby time up to 10 days.
Camera: Luckily, it inherits the camera configuration from iPhone 6s, featuring a 12MP camera which delivers true -to-life images with details and vibrant colors; autofocusing to get much perfect shot and crisper images. It can also capture and edit 4K video at 30 fps, record 1080p video at 30 or 60 fps and also one can take 8-megapixel still photos, while recording 4K video. The rear camera also is same as in iPhone 6s but for FaceTime, it adopts the older module from the iPhone 5s.
Miscellaneous: The iPhone SE continues to use the first generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor which is used in place of passcodes. It features faster LTE that can reach speeds of up to 150MB/s, built in NFC chip on the phone to make the use of Apple pay easier, has a three-axis gyroscope, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor, but doesn’t have a barometer.
Price and Availability: There will be two variants of iPhone SE: 16GB of storage for $399 and 64GB of storage for $499.
